Outdoor Fun in Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake is an enchanting town located about 45 miles Northwest of Chicago and about an hour’s drive to Lake Michigan. Although Crystal Lake is considered to be a part of the Chicago metropolitan area it is far from feeling like a big city with a population under 50,000 people.

 

Crystal Lake which the town was named after is a glistening body of water that hosts several sandy beaches and grassy areas. My day in Crystal lake started with a panic brunch at Crystal Lake Main Beach nestled along the pristine shoreline with plenty of picnic tables and shade for those hot days. Crystal Lake is packed with fun activities for those outdoor minded individuals such as paddle boarding on the lake, or a round of golf at Crystal Lake Country Club. Furthermore, Lippold Park Family Golf Center is a great place to visit and guaranteed fun for the entire family.

 

Crystal Lake also hosts a lively nightlife and restaurant scene which serves well after a day outdoors. My day in Crystal Lake ended at Crystal Lake’s restaurant district on S. Virginia Street where finding a variety of tasty food and locally brewed beer came easy and is the perfect end to a day in Crystal Lake.
